Upon completion of The Juniper Creek Catalogues, I will have curated my own Exhibition. The Exhibition will included branding, self-designed catalogues, specimens and paintings to be presented at the Student Scholar Symposium.
The design for The Juniper Creek Catalogue was inspired by WA The Essence of Japanese Design by Rossella Menegazzo and Stefania Piotti. The margins along the inside are purposely wide to allow for easy perusing while flipping through catalogue. This encourages browsing. The branding and front cover is inspired by 90's movie title cards.
This is a daily practice. Drawing a little hear, designing a little there. All the daily work it takes to produce something. This was crucial to successfuly produce a catalogue in the short span of 3 months.
Field work is the backbone of my research. Being able to work in adverse conditions, on the creek, exposed to the elements. Field research allows me to capture a true reflection of the ecosystem, untainted by a camera lens.
